I wish I would have known just how difficult this would be to program. The Manual is VERY CONFUSING. Had to take it somewhere to get 1/2 programmed. It works great, but still don't understand how to program.
The product was hard to setup and the programming interface was not explained to a novice level. However the product itself was as advertised and works very well, even without the programming. I would recommend this scanner to beginners. The product was definitely worth the price.
I am giving it a good rating based on prior knowledge and the assurance that I had purchased it from a reputable source.Alex C. I am familiar with this brand and I know it would have been a great product as we have had this product before. However, fire claimed this one before we could even turn it on. Wiley, Ph.D.100 S. I can't comment on using it as a mobile application. All in all, I have no complaints.
It does exactly as promised. The BCT8 is an easy to use, feature rich, and affordable scanner.
Programing was simple enough, about what I expected it to be. It gets great reception, even in my basement that's 5-6 feet below grade.
I use it primarily for Fire/Rescue, although I do occasionally listen in to the police chatter in my area on the 800mhz. I would definitely recommend it for the application in which I use it (as a desktop scanner).
Hope this is helpful.
This monitor does it all. You can hear all the emergency calls plusit has an early warning system. Best all around for bells and whistles and price.
